What is The Project
VIRTUES?
It is a set of creative activities that focus on discovering and creating meaningful performance areas of living space
and the quality of the motives that lead people to act in it.
The core of the concept are the following questions:
1. Can you tell what is a virtue?
2. Do you know a virtue, it would be good just to live today?
3. How practical is this virtue reflected in everyday life?
4. How do you imagine the good life?
5. Can we live a good life without virtue?
6. Can you name someone who lives one, you mentioned, a virtue?
Those questions were, in the period 2008 - 2010, addressed as individual members of the public and professionals.
The direct participation in the project were invited authors, groups, organizations and companies active in culture,
science, lifestyle, education, art, geomancy, architecture, music and more.
In the spring of 2009 we organized the first performance of the title and also its first realizations.
The culmination of the project will be a creative process by the collected materials into three-dimensional, text and
visual forms and present it to the public.
The final of this title will be officially celebrated of artistic installation, representing selected motives of the
themes - ”virtues“ in the urban landscape of Prague. The organizers intend to use for this purpose the method of
contemporary art of geomancy and its element cosmograms. Invited authors of realizations, will come from among
experienced european geomants. Their task will be to express the theme by artistic, archetypal language of
cosmograms.
This installation will be accompanied by various social and creative activities related to the title.
Expected date of implementation is planned in the period May-october 2011.
